Customers type their car; OPTIMUS returns the battery spec and matching stock.
The problem
"What battery does my car take?" was a phone call every time. Staff looked up size, terminal side and group by hand, then checked stock across branches.
What we built
- OPTIMUS AI battery finderPlain-language input like "Vios '19 automatic" returns size, terminal side and battery type.
- Matched to real stockResults come from the store's live catalog, not a generic list.
- Multi-location sales & inventoryAdmin system for branches, transfers, sales and stock levels.
- Price historyEvery price change recorded, so margins and past invoices stay correct.
Engineering notes
- Laravel 13 REST API with Sanctum auth, MySQL and Redis
- Next.js 16 admin UI; public site as a static Next.js export
- Append-only inventory ledger: stock is computed from movements and never overwritten
- AI answers carry a clear disclaimer and a call-to-verify before purchase
- Dockerised stack; services bound to localhost behind nginx
